For those curious about the origins of the Railcraft logo, the shield represents strength, the dark blue colour : integrity and the sun : energy, and also that we are a Yorkshire company since the "Sunne in Splendour" is an ancient heraldic device of English Kings from the house of York. ("Now is the Winter of our discontent made glorious Summer by this son / sun of York" - Shakespear, Richard III)

  How to Find Us

Railcraft Associates Ltd is based in the rural North Yorkshire village of Womersley, not far from Pontefract / Knottingley south of M62, and roughly half way between the A19 and the A1 motorway.

Womersley, North Yorkshire

From the A1 (marked in yellow), take the exit marked ‘Darrington / Womersley’ (roughly two miles south of the A1 / M62 junction 33) and turn east through Darrington along a local road for about 3 miles until you reach Womersley. Continue through the village until you reach a very sharp left-hand bend followed immediately by a very sharp right-hand; this is the beginning of Park Lane. Continue down Park Lane until you approach another sharp right-hand bend at the end. Our offices are on the left just before this corner - a single-storey flat roofed building with a small car park in front.

From the A19 traveling south (marked in green), about 1 mile south of Whitley Village or about 2 miles from junction 34 of the M62, look out for a minor road crossing the A19, signposted ‘Womersley / Darrington’. Turn right here, and follow the local road for approx 3 miles until you reach Womersley. Go over the railway crossing, then at the mini-roundabout turn right on to Park Lane. There will be an immediate sharp left-hand bend. Our offices are on the left just after this corner - a single-storey flat roofed building with a small car park in front.

From the A19 traveling north (marked in green), around 5 miles north of Askern and just before reaching the village of Whitley, look out for a minor road crossing the A19, signposted ‘Womersley / Darrington’. Turn left here, and follow the local road for approx 3 miles until you reach Womersley. Go over the railway crossing, then at the mini-roundabout turn right on to Park Lane. There will be an immediate sharp left-hand bend. Our offices are on the left just after this corner - a single-storey flat roofed building with a small car park in front.
