For those curious about the origins of the Railcraft logo, the shield represents strength, the dark blue colour : integrity and the sun : energy, and also that we are a Yorkshire company since the "Sunne in Splendour" is an ancient heraldic device of English Kings from the house of York. ("Now is the Winter of our discontent made glorious Summer by this son / sun of York" - Shakespear, Richard III)

Pan-dimensional Draughting

As an accompaniment to our design development service, we also offer 2D and 3D drawing production for existing paper designs. Whether for the electronic archiving of old paper drawings, or to provide 3D imaging of an existing 2D product, Railcraft uses constantly upgraded hardware and software to convert your paper draughts into a convenient electronic format readable by your current CAD package.

Benefits / Applications

2D   With AutoCAD LT we are able to faithfully reproduce paper drawings electronically in a number of different CAD formats, keeping the scale and sizing of the original.   Useful for archiving or backing up older drawings, or allowing the editing and modification of paper-only designs.

3D

Using SolidEdge we can generate true 3D models of parts or components based upon 2D paper draughts. The end result can be supplied as a 3D solid model file in a number of different formats, or generated as an image file (jpg, bmp, tif etc).

Useful for virtual prototyping and analysis, product demonstration and promotion. It is also often easier to foresee and avoid potential manufacture problems with a 3D model than a 2D drawing.
